I'm a New Yorker, an urbanist, and the mod of r/MicromobilityNYC, r/AstoriaStreetActivism, and r/NYC5.

NYC is a great walking and biking city, but one of our biggest problems is aggressive, hostile, reckless driving by car owners--including cops, who also refuse to ticket other car drivers for endangering everyone else. Many of us in Astoria have been going to the 114th Precinct's community council meetings to push them to stop endangering pedestrians and cyclists with their cop cars, and to urge them to ticket car drivers who park on sidewalks. I've been writing up summaries of the highlights of these meetings since February 2023 and posting them on Reddit. I'm putting them here too because we've all learned we can't trust social media platforms. All links are as in the original Reddit posts. Some people are identified in these summaries by their Reddit usernames, which are in the format of "u/[Someone]".
